Synopsis
First performed on 19 September 2004, Alarm is a series of short pieces for eight dancers: eight works clearly intended as individually autonomous, her aim being to avoid any suggestion of standardization in her approach to the themes and emotions that move her most, and their sources in everyday life and contemporary concerns. After the experience of a full-length work in 2002, Blanca Li sees this piece as "a succession of vignettes, a collage of everyday emotions, like a film. Stories of frustration, of petty paranoia, of the inability to be with others or alone, to live with noise or silence…" The titles tell us a little more: Alarm, Doblepaso, Fastfood, Heat, Electrodomestic…After many years of working with dancers, this is an opportunity for her to bring together her favourite performers, to get the most out of them in a creative process in which each is fully involved: a tribute to the dancers who, over the years, have become part of the Blanca Li tribe.
