Synopsis
For twenty years now this quintet, the only one of its kind in France, has been providing an enchantingly distinctive blend of marimba, vibraphone, xylophone and glockenspiel.
When they began there was no repertoire for their strange instruments, now there's a range of possibilities covering Bach, Ravel, Bernstein, Cole Porter, ragtime, African music and their own compositions. BLOK is music made of movement as well as sound, and produced by a host of classical and unconventional instruments: musical mixes, collages and theatre for 10 hands, 10 feet and 50 fingers.
BLOK takes us into Pocolo's dream, a sequence of endlessly original scenes showing the ups and downs of a day in a man's life.
Pleasing to the eye and ear, and funny as well.
