Synopsis
To celebrate his 50th birthday, Youri Bashmet offers an original and varied
program which reveals the diversity of his passionate work and witnesses his
peculiar role in twentieth century music.
With Moscow’s soloist in “l’Abbatiale de la Chaise-Dieu”, he plays the
pieces of Reger, Chostokovitch, Paganini, Hindemith and Weber.
This virtuous Ukrainian alto who used to be a student at Tchaikovsky’s
Conservatory in Moscow, who won the first prize of the international
competition of Moscow in 1976 and started a brilliant international career,
is now considered as one of the greatest musicians alive.
