Synopsis
Once again the Lyon winter is brightened by the "Winter Music Trip to Lyon" at the Salle Molière.
This time round the guest country is Russia, with four of its best-known composers: Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov for the fevered, melancholy-tinged romanticism so typical of the Slavic soul, and Shostakovich and Prokofiev for a sharper, more caustic account of the ups and downs of a tormented 20th century.
