Synopsis

Using recycled materials to create fabulous fashion at a fraction of store prices, Jane Samson inspires her audience to experiment with their own unique sense of style.

"Jane’s Sew & So" is an interactive sewing program targeting a “teen” audience of 13 – 16 year olds. It’s a “green” show about recycling, building self -esteem, and creating the hottest styles for a fraction of the cost of store bought clothes. Jane’s Sew & So is nationally syndicated for Fall 2008 and fulfills stations’ required 3 hours of E/I (educational-informational) programming.

The first season of episodes, currently airing in syndication and on digital tier 2 stations throughout the U.S. and abroad are, as follows:

JEAN SKIRT

Jane's niece Chastity is in the middle of a "jean crisis" and needs a jean skirt for a party.

COMFY BED COVER

Jane's daughter Grace is ready for a change from a little girl's bedroom to a high schooler's hangout.

EMPIRE SHIRT

Jane's younger daughter Chanel can't find anything she likes at the store to fit her body type and accent her good features.

HIP DOLL DRESS

Jane shows her goddaughter Lara how to make a pattern out of an antique doll dress and turn it into something wild.

REVERSIBLE VEST

Jane shows Lara how to create matching vests for both herself and her doll.

EVERYWHERE PANTS

Jane helps Grace combine two different patterns to create the perfect pair of "everywhere pants."

FELTED PURSE

Chanel and her friend Camille want a unique handbag, one that no-one else will have and that will cost next to nothing.

GUY’S BOARD SHORTS

Young actor Nathan wants to create some hip board shorts to hit the beach in the day and the boardwalk at night.

RETRO SUN DRESS

Jane shows Grace the tricks of a fitted look as they create a lined Sundress with an invisible zipper.

GUY'S STENCILED HOODED JACKET

Grace's schoolmate Robbie wants a cool jacket to heat up the night but doesn't like wearing a boring sportcoat.

ROCK "T-SKIRT"

Chanel has been invited to a rock concert but is tired of the t-shirt and jeans look.

DRESS FORM

Jane shows Chanel how to use simple household items to create a "dress form" that will allow her to drape clothes like a pro.

DESIGNER TIE DRESS

Jane shows Chanel how to take men's silk ties from a thrift store and turn them into an incredibly vivid dress creation.


Additional Information

A full season (13 x 22) currently airs on cable access and digital tier 2 stations. Production begins on Season 2 in February, 2009. We are actively seeking new co-production partners and other avenues of distribution, branching out into publishing and consumer products.
