Synopsis
It's the world's fastest motor sport: Pylon Racing! At an airshow in Tasmania, three massive pylons mark out a triangular course visible both from the air and to spectators on the ground. Here, pilots young and old compete in aerial combat as if they were motor racing drivers, lapping the circuit tight and fast to be the first home and damn the expense of a blown engine! The aeroplanes come from several decades and are divided in to many classes: jets and turboprops, biplanes and monoplanes. For the audience, the most popular category brings together Second World War fighters from an era where pilots had to fly by the seat of their pants rather than a computer program. Pylon racing is fast, clean and professional: a race at rooftop level and even lower, where the margin for error is slim to non existent.
