Synopsis
This is the story of an uncompromising Gallic cartoonist, who conquered the world with his humorous and unresistable characters.

It is the portrait of the most popular cult-cartoonist, who for the first time allows to meet with him in his Gallic dreamhouse, where he tells about his life and work, his ingenious comics, which have drawn whole generations of readers as well as movie and tv audiences under their spell.

Albert Uderzo at work in his studio, sketching out his favorite characters and telling the story behind them. How did the idea about them arise, whom do they possibly resemble?
Much about the private person Albert Uderzo flows into his characters and for the first time he lets the public share his love for his characters and his dreams.

How his Asterix & Co. were adapted into the media of animation and real life films, the latter with his preferred Obelix, French star-actor Gérard Depardieu,
is shown by many clips from the popular Asterix animation and real life films.

"Asterix & Co" became so popular that they were literally "adopted" and their adventures were even translated into regional dialect albums in Germany.

Uderzo remembers the perfect partnership and cooperation with texter René Goscinny, his beloved friend.

The long and minute process of making a comic album from scratch is shown and a treasure is presented: Uderzo’s original book of sketches for the his comic album "Asterix and LATRAVIATA".
