Synopsis
Duka is a married woman and mother of five children living in Southern Ethiopia.The Hamar live with their herds in a remote bush-covered country and cultivate small fields of sorghum. Ever since her husband married a young, beautiful second wife, Duka has been in a state of turmoil. She wonders why her husband married again and so does her mother-in-law. She too has different views than her son, their dispute ending in a family crisis to be solved.
A very intimate film by Jean Lydall and Kaira Strecker. In cooperation with ARD/WDR, ARTE.
