Synopsis

The quest for luck…a journey of happiness.
The Romanian brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia is one of the last Gypsy Bands of
the Roma. Their instruments are more than "antique", music notes they don’t
need since one generation teaches the next, but they are "the fastest" players
of their traditional music.
Their repertoire consists of countless music pieces, which all have their roots
in the folkmusic of their country and the Balkans, and which at the same time represent the musical tradition of the Roma.
This they have carried from their small village Zece Prajini (Ten Fields) in the
North-East of Romania to many countries throughout the world. Their perfor-
mance in front of policemen in Tokyo being only one high - light of this film,
since each performance is a feast for them and their audience.

The New York Times: "A band of speed demons, laughing its way across the bumpiest musical terrain ..."

Fanfare Ciocarlia won the 2006 BBC World Music Planet Award for Europe!

Theatrical Release in German speaking territories, Japan.
