Synopsis
A compelling new drama about a family torn apart by Aspergers Syndrome.
In November 2004 Bill and Wendy Ainscow took an overdose of sleeping pills and waded into the warm Atlantic Ocean off Tenerife to commit suicide. Wendy survived but tragically Bill died. The couple’s bizarre pact was the culmination of years of trying to cope with and get state help for their daughter Lisa, who suffers from Aspergers Syndrome.
Leopard International presents this complex and moving true story of love, loss and reconciliation brought to life by two of the UK’s leading acting talents; Brenda Blethyn (Pride & Prejudice) as Wendy and Timothy Spall (Pierrepoint) as Bill and introducing Rebekah Staton as Lisa.
Mysterious Creatures, written by Grierson Award Winner Gwyneth Hughes (Cherished, BBC). It was produced by Leopardrama, the new drama division of Leopard Films and commissioned by ITV1 in the UK.
