Synopsis
In Jesse Rosensweet's stop-motion animation Paradise, gears turn and a giant automaton whirrs to life. In an impossibly vast mid-20th-century city, painted metal denizens buzz happily and obediently along slotted tracks: tin toys in a tin-toy world. Paradise tells the story of a man, John Small (voiced by Dave Foley), whose actions appear to be entirely predestined. Lacking free will, Small dreams of a better tomorrow, but can't find fulfillment in his suburban dystopia. Written and directed by Jesse Rosensweet.
