Synopsis
Talespinners 1 & 2, designed for 5- to 9-year-olds, feature engaging stories of children dealing with challenges in their everyday lives. The central characters are resourceful, responsible and resilient, and even though they are animated characters, they display very human emotions.
Each tale brings a cultural community to the screen, through a particular setting, accent, folk element or tradition. Young viewers will be inspired and captivated by the adventures, creativity and determination of the Talespinners' characters.
A teacher's guide provides activities in Language Arts, Fine Arts, Media Literacy, Science, Geography, Health and Wellness, Family Studies, Cultural Diversity and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). The guide also describes activities that focus on interpersonal skills and conflict resolution, as well as citizenship and character development.
