Synopsis
What better way to exorcise the demons of war than a rousing bout of paintball? In the ruins of the Hotel Orlando in beautiful downtown Dubrovnik, old comrades in arms gather to try to forget the terrible conflict that plunged the Croatian city into chaos in 1991 and 1992. The men have swapped their AK-47s for air guns that shoot rubber bullets filled with paint!
Filmmaker Jelena Popovic captures these war games on camera. Skilfully blending jumbled images of the bizarre paintball warriors with stock footage of the real conflict, the filmmaker offers up a troubling look at the insanity of war. Yet war is no game. It is a scar that marks a person forever.
