Synopsis
This animated film takes a sensitive, often humorous look, at the power of friendship when a child faces a life-threatening illness.

This is the story of Bridget Poole, a little girl with a serious heart condition, and her childhood companion, the film's canine hero, Sparky. Faced with dangerous heart surgery, it is Bridget's friendship with the loyal and valiant Sparky that gives her the strength to see it through. And when he needs her, Bridget will also be there for him just in the nick of time.

This astonishingly beautiful film captures the isolation and anxiety experienced by sick children and the particular brand of joyful courage and imagination many of them draw on to overcome their fears. It also illustrates the anguish of families, the drama of the operating room and the unparalleled joy when a child's life is saved. But most of all, this film demonstrates just how brave children like Bridget can be when facing illness and the possibility of death.
