Synopsis

PEN PALS

A young man finds his love through writing

Sebastien is an ancient soul trapped within the body of a young man who has not yet reached his third decade. He is a man of letters, dedicated to what some believe is a lost art the art of letter writing. However, Sebastien’s escapist pastime of writing blurs the lines between his chivalrous fantasies and reality.

Until Alita. Alita is Sebastien's most precious pen pal. She is his Spanish senorita, his romantic ideal and the woman with whom he has shared, not only his innermost thoughts, but also his "promise."

Now Alita, impassioned by Sebastien's poetic prose, has proclaimed her plan to travel from Mexico and "live" the "promise" with Sebastien.

With one mere line from a letter, Sebastien is propelled far beyond the protection of his pen and paper prison. His paper girl princess is about to rise from the pages of his imagination and he is terrified.

Alitas arrival appears "picture perfect" at first, but promises, even if fulfilled are not always what we dream they will be. Alas, Sebastien once again finds himself alone. Yet, it is within this solitude that a ripple of hope swells into a scream of self-realization and Sebastien embarks on the most challenging quest of his life. He faces his fears and travels to Mexico.

Sadly, Mexico brings Sebastien little more than heartache and the knowledge that Alita is not his senorita. However, destiny has not yet finished with this ancient soul and what happens next is a poetic tribute to the timeless wisdom and ultimate power of our mistress fate.
